My Ex's solicitors after suddenly realising that there is nothing to be gained from going after my pensions, indeed it looks like my ex has £14,000 more pension than myself so have after spending months pushing this suddenly want to forget the pensions.
They have decided to make an offer to let me buy her out of her share in the property however it is not taking account of for example that when she left I picked up debts on utilities she left and also I have for almost 2 years been paying the mortgage and household debts alone which they are not giving any account for, it amounts to over £8000 of payments on the mortgage alone, surely this needs to be taken account of in the calculation?
Also just 5 months before she left we took out a large loan to buy a new caravan, it had to be taken in my name as she had bad credit but it has been suggested this is a family debt and as enough has not been paid off this debt to make selling it viable and as such I am left with the debt of nearly £200 a month which I have paid thus far and will have that debt all because of a joint decision to make the purchase, she of course is saying now that she had not been happy in the marriage for over a year, how would a calculation take account of this family debt in coming to a fair clean break agreement?
TIA
