Child Maintenance Payments and guidance sort.

I am seeking some advice and guidance relating to my eldest Daughter.
She has been in a relationship for the last 14 years. Her ex-partner decided to vacate the family home, leaving the 2 children. (Aged 3 and 9 years)

He has no entitlement to the house. The house is owned by my Daughter.

The ex-partner has been paying maintenance for the children for the last 10 months. The maintenance payment arrangement was decided jointly by themselves. My Daughter is happy with the actual amount being paid.
There has been no issue regarding non payment.

However, as he vacated for another woman and me being "old school" I was anxious to ascertain that should non payment difficulties arise.
I assume that a direct approach to the Child Maintenance Service is the order of the day.

The ex-partner owns his own well established business to which I am well acquainted with having carried out book work activities.
Any help advice/guidance will be very greatly appreciated.

If there is a voluntary agreement in place and he is paying then let sleeping dogs lie. However, if that stops then the Child Maintenance Service is another option but that has a double edged sword. They might say that he is paying too much and needs to pay less or they might say he paid too less and needs to pay even more. The good thing is that they have powers to enforce these decisions.

At the moment, I think the simple thing is let things go as they are fine.

Hi there. Just a quick reply to thank you for your response. I was hovering between doing something positive. However, I am sure you are spot on with your response. I should imagine that most fathers who are self employed barely earning £12,000pa when chased by the CSM.
