Thanks for coming back benjus - I think that is a kind of service many people could do with.... I know I could, almost daily, for others.

How much (if you don't mind me asking) around abouts did he charge you for procedural input?

She hasn't billed me yet... but she estimated about £300 (ex VAT). She's an associate at a Lincoln's Inn-based firm (I chose them because my cousin was working there, although not in the family department).

One last update - after filing the case in February 2015, sending the court papers to my ex by courier and email, attending a First Appointment in May 2015, then finally attending an FDR hearing in August 2015 (with my ex attending by telephone) I have finally obtained a court order to reduce my maintenance payments - so the above method worked.

So it took a while and cost me a bit (probably £1000 or so, including legal advice and court fees) - but a lot less than it would have cost to have legal representation, and a lot faster (and cheaper) than using the Foreign Process Section to serve court documents.
