  • Watch for the cuts

My local council has decided to save money by stopping transport to day centres for the disabled. This is being challenged and the info on the case is here
    http://www.irwinmitchell.com/newsand...nsport-service
This is the tip of the ice berg with cuts to the vulnerable as all who are carers should be aware of.
I have today had my ILF (Independent Living Fund) assessment done and although my daughters funding is safe until next June when ILF is supposedly going to end. After that it will be down to our local council to cover their part of the package cost IF the Government passes down that money.
Now the wheels are in motion to have my daughter taken off a one to one basis at the day centre and attend on her own, (this will not happen if I can help it and believe me they will have a scrap). I can not let her be ignored , left to her own devices and indeed as she has no sense of danger open to possible harm by other service users. I also know my daughter inside out and know if she has her head on she could do (although not serious) harm to others.
So just a warning to others who care for people that are maybe having their lives turned upside down while their local council saves a few bob, keep yer eyes and ears open and stop it before it starts.

Don't let whoever is in charge of your local council purse get up to what this ******** did

      Totally agree. This is shameful.

An optimist is someone who falls off the Empire State Building, and after 50 floors says, 'So far so good'!
