A little help would be appreciated. My wife's aunt, in her 90's is living alone after the death of her husband last year. She had stated last year that she id not want her only son to have power of attorney but it seems he has obtained it but my wife and her sister believe that the consent may have been signed when presented to her as part of the many things to be be signed after the death of her husband.
Her son is emptying her house bit by bit, there are hardly any of her possessions left there. It seems like the son is doing a house clearance before she dies rather than after.
She is looks as though she is living in absolute poverty but we know that she has a good pension from her husbands employer and there were what could be called good savings. Nothing appears to be spent on her any more. The son has had one, possibly 2, holidays in Egypt. within the last few months but he does not have a particularly good job. Suspect he is getting access to his mothers funds for his personal use.
He's not a nice person to know. Tried to stop people going to his father's funeral by saying the undertaker had double booked!
How can my wife contact the Court of protection to make them aware of her and her sister's suspicions? And on what grounds?
