An inheritance question??

Hello:

I am new to this forum...... so hello to all!!! i have a question regarding inheritance i'm hoping someone can answer. I have been married for 25 years and i have my mother who is now 83 who owns her own house. When something happens to her and i inherit her house, can i keep the house/proceeds seperate from my wife during marriage/divorce??

See a lawer but it may be possible to have the hous put into a trust / I dont know what power pre-nups have in this country
