TRicky situation, but I have a parent who has developed dementia & does not have capacity, my other parent has power of attorney,.we have seen them both regularly although admittedly don't get on so well with the one with poa.
Things took a weird turn & she sent me some text messages saying you can't visit, really insulting language. We asked if this was from my sibling & not her, although the messages were "from her" it didn't look like her style & way too nasty. It clearly was my sibling (who has a drug problem & living on the house,) & he said so. I don't know if he was acting alone or with parent.
I suspect he was doing this independently but don't know really.
I don't know whether this is legal? I mean the messages were really awful & upsetting & now sibling has blocked me on this phone.
Should add no-one has seen this sibling for years although he skulks around in the shadows in their house.
I'm worried that my parent with dementia who clearly wants to see us won't have a voice & will be lost in this.
Any advice would be useful.
