I have recently moved out the marital home after finding my partner was cheating on me, she claims its just a few texts and never went further but I have no proof either way.
I left for a couple of days and went back to talk it out and said I was prepared to work things through, she said she wanted to separate as she had been unhappy for a long time and this has made her realise that she basically wants out.
We have a 3 year old child so it was agreed that she would stay in the house and I would leave as this would be better for our child, I have somewhere to go, it would be more difficult for her to move with the little one. She said she wanted to buy me out of the house, 50/50, and would get the ball moving.
I lived in hope that once things calmed down a little we could see a way to reconcile, I still loved her and was thinking of our child. She has now made it very clear that this won't happen and wants to get the house valued to buy me out.
I know I have to pay the mortgage on the property whilst my name is on it, it would not even enter my head not to, but I am not sure what I should do about the rest of the money. Each month we put an amount in the joint account where the mortgage, utilities, Sky etc and Nursey costs would be paid from, she put in £50 a month more than me as she earns around £7k more than me a year.
I am fully aware that I need to provide for the Child and I have no qualms about that, I have the little one stay with me for at least 1 night a week (more if possible) so know I need to contribute towards the household expenses to provide for my child but not sure if I should be paying the full amount I used to as I am not living there, or if I should pay a reduced amount to provide my share for the child. I have living costs where I have moved to and also extra fuel to and from work and back and forth to see child most nights to bath and bed.
This all just a big mess and very new to me not being in this situation before. I want to provide for child and will continue to do so, but not sure if I should contributing the full amount I used to when living there?
Any advice would be very much appreciated at this early stage so I know I am doing the correct thing.
