Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right forum, but struggled to find the right place.
So my brother is going through a divorce, and as usual his ex is making allegations of abuse and him being unsafe around the children and withholding access to them as a negotiation tool until she gets the financial settlement she wants (she has all but stated this out loud).
My concern is that for some reason I have been dragged into it, as being unsafe around the children, and the claims to the ex's solicitor, that I am an alcoholic, homophobic, pro nazi sympathiser. This would be hilarious, as I am a triathlon running, LGBTQ charity employee, who is engaged to a German citizen, if it wasn't designed to destroy my work, and family life.
This hasn't got to my employer yet, but I work closely with the police and social services in the next region, so it's only a matter of time before it reaches them, and I am forced to defend myself, as I work with LGBTQ young people, and I volunteer with children for another charity.
Do I have any legal recourse in this, it has huge potential to be destructive, and is categorically false, and just a malicious attack on me (indirectly as it is targeted at my brother)?
Thanks
