  • Property inheritance

My brother and I have each inherited 50% share of our late mothers estate including a house
We have decided that I will take the house and my brother all other assets
The house is worth more than 50% of the total estate valuation so I will pay my brother the difference to ensure that he receives his 50%
Please can you advise on the legal implication this arrangement regarding
    1. Stamp duty
    2. Capital gain tax
Please you advice whether the title deeds can be transferred to me or should we transfer to my brother and I and then remove my brothers name?
