  • Releasing inheritance 30 years early?

My mother left me inheritance but to be given when I reach the age of 60.

It isn’t in a trust like my child’s and the executor of the will is the solicitors firm.

I am buying a new house so obviously that money is going to be more use now than in 30 years.

Is there any chance of this being released early? Who will hold it for 30 years if not?

    Interesting situation.

Do you have a copy of the will? Executors generally have the power to invest, do you know if the inheritance is being invested or just held in an account?

Who is entitled to the interest? What guarentee is there that the solicitors will still be in business in thirty years?
