My Sons Biological Father Help

Hi

My son has just turned 18, he also has a small 8 month old baby with medical needs and his biological father has popped up online making threats towards my son and his girlfriend. I reported it to the police on twitter and my son made a statement to the police on 101 but this won't stop with just a phone call.

Is there anything me and my wife can do to get his father to stop. We was thinking restraining order of some sort?
