RECAP: I have been attempting to transfer departments in my workplace for 12 months and awaiting specialized equiptment for 18 (nearer 19 now). I have hypermobility and the startings of arthritis in my wrists, suspected carpal tunnel and a deformity to my right wrist which means my hands point inwardly. My right hand is a good size larger than the left. I have hated the unit I am in since start. No one cares and the unit physically stinks of old stagnant water and off milk.
In June I was taken to a stage one hearing for absence, one of which included an incident where I was on crutches for 7 weeks due to a cyst on the back of my knee exploding.
I was promised an occupational health appointment and interviews for new departments within a month.
UPDATE:
So, what has happened Callie? I hear you cry.
Nothing.
Nada, zip, zero, zilch.
I am still in the same position, stuck in a unit I despise without any timescale, I have had no contact from Occupation Health and the stage one meeting is still looming over my head "pending reports from OH."
The management admit that the meeting is probably preventing me from a transfer, but nothing is being done about it and I have heard nothing. All I get is "I will get back to you." and no one does.
Ever.
I have lost count of the amount of times I have gone home crying, raging and wanting to physically punch someone with the frustration of this situation.
I am failing calls as I now have the "Meh, shit happens" mentality and my personal happiness has dropped to about a 1 on a scale of 1-10.
I have to do weekly pain scales so I can adjust my medication accordingly, at the moment I am doing them on a daily basis and have been put back on Naproxen until further notice! On a daily basis my pain level is 6-8 (10 being the worst you have ever experienced.)
I thought about handing my notice in, until I heard (from a manager) that our department are "not back filling part time staff, full time only".
Is this a ploy to make part timers leave? If so they are gonna be paying me a shedload to do it
My immediate manager is being moved to another department that she is not interested in our ops manager is refusing to give her full working hours for the new department and saying the move is "due to her limited hours."
I keep saying you don't want to leave and they are making you, I am desperate to and they won't let me.. how is that fair??!??!
What can I do?
Am I right in thinking that there is a time limit to a pending disciplinary cos this has been over 4 weeks adjournment now?
I've got the internal union involved but the way things are going, I will still be there at Christmas which will be another reason to keep me there!!
