Hi,
My wife is due to go back to work soon but the employer has made changes which she was not formerly informed about. She did have conversation with manager who told her it was a proposal but its now in force with other employees of the same role.
Before maternity she worked days and 1 evening every 2 weeks for the previous year. She has been told the new rota has her down as doing multiple evening per week.
She has also heard that they are reducing her hours to 30 a week, where previously it was 35 and 37 hours a week rotating. But they say this is ok as she will now get £10ph instead of £8.60.
But when you do the calculations although she will be on a higher hourly rate, due to doing less hours she will be £499 a year worse off!
Where does she stand with this legally with them changing shift pattern and hours?
Thanks

Hourly | Hours pw | Hours a year | Pay |
£8.60 | 35 & 37 | 1872 | £16,099.20 |
£10.00 | 30 | 1560 | £15,600.00 |
Difference | £(499.20) |
