refused reference and job loss

Hi all,

I've had my employment terminated after 2 weeks because one of my referees refused to provide a reference. This was surprising and they have previously provided a reference for me (I work a number of short term contracts, bit this one was for a permanent pisition.)

As this has resulted in me losing the job (and my only source of income) do I have any legal standing to take either employer to tribuneral? I wasn't given the option to provide another reference.
