Please can anyone help or advice?
I was a trainee for over 3yrs under a postgraduate college to become a specialist.
The completion of this requires me to pass:
1. A portfolio,
2. An MCQ exam
3. A phase to phase exam (during my time in training, I could sit this exam countless times however, this is now reviewed so you can only sit 3 times).
I passed the first two parts of the exam, however, for the 3rd part, during the end of my training, I had a concerning result. I had a gesture that the marking parameter changed without been notified! If the previous marking was used, I passed but if the new marking was used, I marginally failed - short of 2 points!
Not happy with this and as was the only thing I was waiting for, I questioned the result but got a dismissive respond that the result stand and was correct!
Devastated and my trainer decided to go into my portfolio to intentionally mark me down, in her words she will be challenged why I passed the portfolio and failed the other component! (She was confused as we were one of the first to start this model of training).
Unbelievably, got a letter from the college about 3 months later, stating that I was one of the people disadvantaged from the change in marking scheme. They were prepared to pay for my next exam but the result holds! At this point I was so demoralized and run out of training!
Sat the next exam under duress but failed and at this time was kicked out of training without any certificate or any proof of attending this training!
Almost 4 yrs of my life gone into this without anything to show for it!!
Please any advice or any Lawyer that can help me?? The college is so big and I feel intimidated but I have the feeling I might have a way round this unfortunate occurrence to me. I feel like a victim of a system!!
