  • Holiday not paid

I was on holiday from work last week and my manager forgot to put me down as on holiday on the rota meaning that I didn't get paid this week, they are happy to pay me it next week but I was told by a friend that as they owe me that money I could be entitled to more as they messed up. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

    Re: Holiday not paid

1 - your friend is incorrect, unless you incurred any bank charges (financial costs/deteriment incurred) etc as a result of it not being paid, then your legally not entitled to any extra at all.
2 - They must pay you ASAP i.e. as soon as reasonably possible to do so once they have become aware of the issue.

As your on weekly pay then its reasonable to expect to be paid for that week along with this weeks pay, though you would be within your rights to demand payment now, but thats more likley to cause hostility and damage your reputation with your managers etc. Though eitherway, point out any charges etc that you have incurred as a result of their mistake and request that they reimburse you for those charges etc, as its there fault you incurred such financial deteriment as a result of their failings, and legally under contractual law your entitled to be reimbursed for any costs you incurred as aresult of their contractual breach (Failure to pay you is a breach of contract, but one that can be easily remedied)!!
