I'm sure these are questions that have been covered before, but couldn't find them sorry:
1/ For statutory redundancy pay, the law says that, to be eligible, you need to have worked for an employer for two years. I will have been ten days short of that mark when I leave my present company (who have, cheerfully, decided to make my post redundant and told me just before Xmas) - am I really entitled to no statutory redundancy pay at all in this limit case?
2/ My post and my boss's post are both to be made redundant, and a new position to be created between them on the pay scale. I was not consulted about this at all until yesterday, when there was a brief meeting during which I was told that my post would be made redundant, and that I was 'welcome to apply' for the new post.
Is there any kind of consultancy process that my employer should have followed in such a case?
