    Hi there,

I'm new to the whole thread posting and general forum scene, so please forgive me if I've done anything wrong. I'm hoping some of you lovely people can help me.

I've been employed with a company for almost 10 years and I'm currently finding myself on the receiving end of poor management and unfair treatment. My opinion is probably going to sound bias to some, but would appreciate you reading, and maybe feeding back where you can.

    Here goes...

Like I said, almost 10 years in. I joined another department at the start of the year, the company had a few internal positions within the department and I thought the move would be good for career prospects etc. We handle customer complaints, and follow regulations set by OFCOM. The training wasn't the best, but nonetheless, sufficient enough to complete the day-to-day tasks, however, there are a lot of grey areas around what we as a department can, and cant do. As part of the move, the salary incorporated an annual bonus which is dependent on performance. Now, everybody else received a pay increase when they moved apart from me. I was told that as I was earning more than the standard employee in my previous department (through yearly service pay increments), I wasn't entitled to it, and was already at the threshold - something I later found out to be untrue.

The first couple of months were ok, until they started to crack down on KPI and productivity. We're basically assessed on the number we complete and are targetted by an internal compliance team who mark us based on a couple of complaints we complete. The micro management got to the extreme of expecting individuals to hit productivity target on days where there physically wasn't any work to do. I raised this concern, and since then I feel like i'm being targeted.

I was placed on a coaching plan for 4 weeks based on my productivity as I failed to reach the threshold by 0.1. Though a little harsh, I have no qualms with this, I didn't achieve so cant complain. I went through the following 4 weeks and over achieved on my performance plan. I was supposed to be signed off from the plan 22/10 but wasn't. On 23/10 I was taken into a meeting, informing me that an investigation had taken place (my work being looked into) and that they'd found some things and needed to do a further investigation. I hadn't followed a process, but, no customers were affected and the brand had received no damage or any further complaints. I was told I was a risk to the business, and as a result suspended on full pay pending further investigation.

I received a letter the following week, confirming that I had been suspended and the reasons. The letter was dated 22/10 - I was suspended on 23/10. I was also asked to attend an investigation meeting to help with their enquiries etc. I went into the workplace and was presented with a few accounts, some of which I disputed on the grounds they were not valid, to which I was disregarded. I was told following a very brief adjournment that my case would be going to disciplinary. I was asked to sign the notes they'd taken on the day, but refused and asked if they could send them to me and I'd read over them and raise any concerns.

I heard nothing for the next few days and became worried but was told to wait until I received documentation. On 04/11 I received my invitation to disciplinary at 14:00 (recorded delivery). On the letter, it informed me that my meeting was also on 04/11 at 12:00. I was a little surprised that no one had called me shortly after 12:00 to check my whereabouts, but gave them a call and was told verbally that there had been a printing error and my meeting would be on 09/11.

Over the coming days, I reviewed the grounds for disciplinary and evidence presented and narrowed the number of valid points down to 2 instances. I hadn't followed a processed and mistakenly set the status of a complaint to closed, rather than proposal.

I attended my disciplinary, convinced I was correct in my appeal to the evidence (narrowing them down). I was knocked back on using incorrect grammar and told that all instances would be held against me. Throughout the meeting, the manager kept telling me that I would not be dismissed. I raised a very valid point in that i'm not the only person in the department to make this mistake, and that around 90% of the workforce do the same, without any punishment. This point was not addressed and I was given a generic response of 'we're not looking at anybody else'. I was also told one of my complaints had been escalated to CISAS but no evidence provided. Eventually the meeting is adjourned, the manager comes back, and I'm told that I'm not being dismissed, but would be receiving a final written warning and would have to endure a further 4 weeks on a coaching plan (something I should of been signed off on earlier) - I have no previous disciplinary sanctions. I'm told that I must sign the notes there and then, and the manager even told me i'd have trouble reading the handwriting. Relief I still have my job, but know that it's not over. I'm asked to return to work the following day where i'll be given my FWW.

I attend work yesterday, and literally wait all day to have my return to work meeting and recieve my FWW. I'm in another meeting with the same manager where I'm given the FWW, dated 09/11 (the same day my disciplinary was held) ask for evidence not submitted - I'm told that I cant have this evidence as the case is now closed. I also ask for a copy of the notes I signed. The manager takes the FWW off me and says she will bring me the notes and FWW in a pack. Im sat around for 30mins when the manager returns and tells me that she's changed the date on the FWW to 10/11 and that the photocopiers are broken, but she'll type the notes taken from the meeting and give me a copy. I'm also informed as part of my coaching plan i'm expected to close 'x' number of complaints per day (there physically is no work to close in the department right now), i'll also have my work dip checked - the manager told me if I do not hit target on this plan, I will go back into disciplinary.

I'm pretty sure i've covered everything in the above summary, may have missed some detail so accept my apologies. I'm literally feeling run down from the whole thing, somewhere i've worked for almost 10 years. Can anybody please shed some light??

    Thanks
