I think you would need to tell him however I take it that this new job is only guaranteed for 3 months . I am not sure if financially you are going to be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire . As it stands you will get paid until mid October and then I think redundancy pay of about 6 weeks followed by benefits . With the new job you get guaranteed money for 3 months and then benefits .

It has to be your decision and whichever course you take has its potential pitfalls and opportunities .

If you do take the job I think you must tell him so they can terminate your employment as of tomorrow , of course if this new job will fit around your old working pattern there is maybe no need to tell him as it is purely a 2nd job.

I'm not an employment expert, far from it, I post based on my own experiences and those of others I know.

IMHO The decision to take up a job for three months is a tricky one, especially if it involves resigning rather than accepting redundancy. If you resign you're not normally paid redundancy. Furthermore, it would also jeopardise any potential to make an employment tribunal claim for unfair dismissal which I think was also suggested above.

If the three month contract was extended or led to further work from that company or associated companies it would make it worthwhile, if not probably not, but that's just my opinion. :decision:

say that it is large extension to a college. but i will inquire more today and i will know a lot more.

I think that the fact you have not signed anything might be useful to you. You have your appeal and you really need to tell them that you were not given the opportunity to sign this.
Are their points in the letter that you disagree with or don't remember having said or been told

I do remeber being v annoyed at the date then he made the claim but if yoy keep making yourself available for shifts you could be with vsg for 5 years doing that at my rate i was on doing odd days 9-5 otherwise i wouldnt have agreed to anything i havent had a new contract in the time i been there i asked for my latest contract and that is still out of date it isnov 2011. Any advice for my appeal i iwould be most grateful for also no reply to my letter within the 7day deadline which mentions my reasons for dismissal and lack of any eviedence So i will call the aa legal people to see what to do next

Had appeal and as i thought the managers just ganged up on me because the deputy manager would have made life hell if they didn't and brought up something that from the beginning of the year a document i might have photocopied so i didn't have to hassle the mangers i just did my store checks on it and it already had a managers signature on it but he wouldn't have a copy of it at the tribunal as i destroyed them all i did this because it was hard to get a manager to stop what they were doing to sign anything. They are all scared for there jobs with him there he wont stop till he gets his own store. Since then i have had 2 arrests and 1 attempted stop were the managers were useless .then there there was the stock-take were we beat budget by just under 16000 and £151000 better than the previous stock-take. Surely all this would count for something the woman was very annoyed when i said i wasn't signing the appeal document which would have meant i agreed with what went on at the appeal meeting, i am not sure what she will do know. She wants me to take a job as a cleaner or caterer when i have no experience doing that so i am not keen on that idea. Your thoughts greatly appreciated do i get acas informed know .she denies that the area mentioned redundancy or that he said i could carry on for 5 years just doing relief work and get paid my hours i do know she also said it was not tax free when under this dismissal date hell.help and advice much appreciated hope this makes sense. Also when i mentioned deductions in my holiday pay she said they were allowed to take an average number of hours worked and pay me that not what I actually worked and she said it was in my contract so i will look into that myself is this all fair what they did.just to add to this i find iam 400 light on my wages when i have signed on like i was susposed to. My manager has not replied to my emails or the payroll department when rwuested for answers and for deductions from holiday pay any other advice much appreciated

any advice on free legal would be most grateful as legal aid is very likely not an option. Had very little help from my area manger since the appeal he is hardly replying to anything and my wage slip is over £400 short. so help v much appreciated.

Legal aid would only apply to discrimination cases when it comes to employment. However, it IS possible to get pro-bono legal representation (twice lucky  :grin. I'm going to dig up a post I made a few months ago with some links, bear with me. :ranger:

You should also look at your home insurance as some policies include legal costs cover.
