    ACAS were abrupt with you? Not getting very good feedback from people who speak to ACAS lately, sadly, they were always very good before. They should have explained the process to you and made sure that it was the right way to go.

      He just asked me what I wanted to do. As Im not sure I asked what I could do. He said they didn't take sides and suggested a spoke to a solicitor. But could fill out early conciliation form. I asked what that did. He just said read the attached email.

        Did you ring them or use the online chat help thing?

        ACAS are meant to offer guidance and advice and help you understand how the law affects you and be able to decide between the possible causes of action available to you - really sounds like they failed on that score.

          I phone them. He said he couldn't give any advice as they can't take sides. What is it I wanted to do. I wasn't sure whether it was discrimination (CAB said that due to the cashiers not being investigated) or constructive dismissal. He then said constructive dismissal was hard to prove. He totally put me off trying to be honest. It felt totally out of my league

                  It's okay, it is a tough situation and you do need some professional guidance to know whether to take it forward or what options you have - I'm a bit peeved at ACAS on a few people's behalves lately - they used to be excellent.

                    Yes. The guy I spoke to certainly wasn't how CAB portrayed them. He was very rude.

                      Ignore the nay sayers, there referring to tesco only needing reasonable belief, but they didn't have that as it was the cashiers error they were punishing you for! Its constructive dismissal by the way, under breach of mutual trust.

                      But wait see what the solicitor says.

                        My insurance provide solicitor from DAS Law. They have terrible reviews. Say don't touch them with a barge pole. Nothings straightforward is it.

                          Check your insurance policy wording carefully.
                          If you are really unhappy with using DAS Law It MAY be that you can appoint your own legal representative, and not have to use the one provided by your insurer.
