Holiday- whilst off with bad back.

Hi i have been off work for a few months with a bad back for which time i have been signed off .
my contract has been paying me sick pay .
i am now on a period of half pay .
I have taken some holiday leave during this time . which had to be approved by a director . They didnt ask me if i was going to do anything during this time .

My contract says basically that if a holiday is booked before going sick it can be taken as long as it doesnt hinder your recovery and they may want to see a note from your doc or something .

it then says that annual to be taken during a time of sick absence must be approved by a director - which is what they have done .
Ive been getting really down lately as been off for ages . My parents want me to go stay with them at their villa . Not going to be doing much just sitting around and getting looked after .

Is there anything they can really do ?
Also if they have approved me leave on these days do i even have to contact them during this time that I'm off ? .i normally call them once a week .

My understanding of what you wrote suggests that you're off sick. You can go wherever you want in the world as long as a doctor approves.
As your annual leave has been approved by a director, what exactly is the problem?

I took annual leave as they cut my pay to half. as im off sick they had to approve the leave through a director . they never asked me if i am to go away or not .
I neither said i was or not going away either .
They have approved me though to take the days as annual leave i have a email from my manager saying the annual leave you requested has been approved .

that is what I'm getting at

That's great Im still going to call them this week to tell them I'm o.k and will divert my incoming calls to voice mail so i can respond to any issues .
