Hello,
I am new to the forum and if possible would like some assitance. My current employers has advised us that the premises we currently work are being moved 8 miles to the other side of town. It is not ideal for me as it adds 2 hours to my daily journey (i use public transport).Having a quick read online there is a mention about a mobility clause in my contract and having looked through i've not found anything obvious.
The only thing I could see was a section that states
'We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to your terms of employment and the staff handbook. The rest is about acceptance and if any objections to put them in writing.
Would this be classed as a mobility clause and if so would an extra 2 hours on my working day in travel be deemed unreasonable? I have worked for my employer for 7 years so am looking at possible redundancy of some sort. I have explained my concerns to management and am awaiting their reply. So just want to be ready with any information for when they do get back to me.
