  • URGENT - Investigation/discplinary advice

    Hi all,

I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone has to offer on this. To summarise I am currently being investigated by previous employer for gross misconduct. Initially from the off its been very one sided in my opinion. I was told a week before I was due start my new job that I was to be suspended and this would have happened even before I handed my notice in. The allegations are vague and I do not agree with them, my work was never called into question during my employment and I was constantly told what a good job I have done.

Anyway I had to attend an investigation meeting (which took several hours). 2 weeks later the employer sent me the meeting minutes asking me to confirm that the contents were true or propose the amendments. This meeting minutes are to be used as evidence for any final decision on the appropriate disciplinary action. The meeting minutes are shocking in that they are very poorly written. They is poor grammer, its hard to make sense of some the accounts, its hugely summarised and has incorrectly represented my responses in many areas. I wrote the employer noting how poorly written the letter was and invited them to send me a revised version to make it easier for me to amend. I would actually have to write the meeting notes from scratch if I was to use their current version. Management have ignored this letter and have said that if I do not respond by the end of the week, they will have to use the meeting minutes in their current state for the investigations.

Considering that I do not agree with them, I feel this is very unfair and i certainly will not be a position to write a full new account by the end of the week - can anyone offer advice on my options here.

Can you give us a break down as to the time line of events please?

Also what are the allegations that are being made against you and by whom? tell us their position in company and work relationship to you, and when the alleged misconduct is said to have occurred too please.
