  • Who can dismiss an employee?

Hi guys, this is my first post in the forum so apologies if the matter has been discussed already.

I am trying to find out who is legally entitled to dismiss an employee in a big company; I thought it had to be someone from HR but from my personal experience it was just a manager who carried out the investigation without even consulting anyone from human resources.

If you know the answer to the issue, please let me know

    Many thanks

In large company it would be whoever the company has delegated the authority to . Often the manager or Managers manager. In a small company it's usually the owner or proprietor.
