  • Redundancy Pay

In my staff handbook it says the following
The financial terms usually applying to redundant staff will be double the statutory amount, based on contractual pay or statutory redundancy pay, whichever is the greater ( temporarily varied from 1 July 2009)

I've been paid basic redundancy is this legal?

Is what you received more than it would have been if they'd based your redundancy on your contractual pay??
The way I read it, you should have received either one or the other - whichever was higher :tinysmile_twink_t2:

Could the word(Usually ) and this not being the contract mean they are not getting any more than the minimum?
