  • Changing my Working Hours

I have been working for a Supermarket for about 7 years now, and I use to work either 6am to 4pm or 11.30pm to 9.30pm.

I mainly did the late shifts as I am not good in the morning, I worked nights for 18 years, and do not sleep well, usually get to sleep in the early hours, if I am on an early shift I would hardly sleep at all.
Anyway, they have now told me that they want me to work 7am to 5pm, which properly most peole would like to do, but its just to early for me as I would have to get up at 6am every morning! This means little sleep for me!

Where do I stand legally? They have not given us any written notice, just told us!

    Re: Changing my Working Hours

Look at your contract of employment....
If it states your hours of work, then the company cannot alter them without your permission.
If it just states 35 hrs per week (example) then they can alter then.
