  • Told id give verbal notice when I didnt

Hi to cut a long story short -
Told my boss that id applied for a new job. Then asked if I was accepting it to which I replied I am. Boss has taken this as my notice and has said I dont need to work my notice and it will be for 4 weeks but they will pay me what ive worked upto the date of notice plus holiday and told me to leave. Contract states to leave I have to give 2 months written notice which I havent done. Can they do this ?? I had whistleeblown 4 days prior to this and feel I have been 'paid off to keep quiet'

Well he is giving you 4 weeks pay and saying you can go, or he can make you work for 60 days, your choice??

I wasnt given the choice I was told to go. Ive had to ask 4 times for a copy of my contract so i can see what or how i can give notice. Others have given in their notice in writing & have been allowed to work their notice.

Then they have broken your the terms in your contract of employment if it stated 2 months notice. But you should have still reported for work and then be forced to leave.

The whistleblowing angle is different as you wil have made a protected disclosure. Before i comment any more can you give an idea as to the whistle blowing

Was it to do with Health and Safety or large scale fraud that would have an impact on the public??
