  • Refusing to sign new contract

Hi First of all some background.

I work in a 24hr call centre there are different rates of pay depending on what time you start work lowest being £6.70 getting higher the later you start work.

I have more responsibilities than other members of staff so get £8.50 per hour.

I signed my original contract when i first started the job over 5 years go it states the rate of pay as the lowest denomination £6.70.

The new contract i am being asked to sign still has £6.70 even though i get £8.50 the job title of the contract also has me as a different job role to the job i currently do.

I have been told even though i have told my employer my reasons for not signing it will automatically change onto the new terms. I understand this to be correct as i am working for the company and haven't actually put my grievance in writing.

Just need some advice on what i can do if anything i don't want to run the risk of getting made redundant

    Thank you
