  • Pay 2 weeks late.....again

    Hi,

I worked for a pretty big Computer games company in the UK. Part of a multinational company.

In March they made our salary payment 2 weeks late, came on the 1st April (should have been 21st MArch.

I gave my notice at this point and left mid May.

It got to the end of May and there's been no sign of my 3 weeks final salary.

Does anyone have any info on what I can do to get my final pay? I just spoke to HR over there and they said part payment of salary might be coming soon but not definite.

This pay issue affects 150 people in the UK and about 600 world wide.

The disgusting thing is, the company is all over the Computer games news with the announcement of their new game. Nice to do that while not paying anyone

    Thanks

Remind them of there legal obligations under section 13 employment rights act 1996 regarding unlawful deductions of wages and give them 7 days to pay up in full, or you will consider legal action to reclaim all monies owed.

Send it as part of an email or written letter (by recorded delivery), but keep copies for your own records too.

I guess some kind of miss guided loyalty is stopping me from naming them. Give it a few more days of not being paid and I'll probably spill it....

          It's a big un......

I'll send them that info mentioned above, thanks

The contract says we'll be paid "on or around the 21st", does that clear them or does the fact we're into a new month kill that excuse?

Nope it doesn't clear them. On or around x date usually means on the date or within 2-3 days before or after the date. Anything later than 2-3 days is late payment of wages. So yeah they kind of killed that excuse with it being a month later now and they still not paid you you wages, notice period, accrued holidays or any accrued bonuses (if any bonuses).

I'll see if i can put a quick draft of a letter up for you today - if you don't here from me by mid afternoon today (wednesday) send me a reminder by PM or on the thread here.

In the mean time, work out exactly how much they now owe you in unpaid wages, notice pay, accrued holiday pay and accrued bonuses (if any bonuses).

Ohh and i still want to know what the game is called - So its name of game in exchange for draft letter lol

We were paid monthly on the 21st for the 3 weeks before and the week after that date.

I left on the 16th May and owed a few days holiday back (3.5, I think).

                        Re: Pay 2 weeks late.....again

Right so basically you were not paid 1 month in arrears, but in fact, each month you were paid for the 3 weeks you had already worked and paid in advance for the 4th week that you were due to work. So they owe you, as part of your notice period, weeks 2,3 and 4 for the month of may, which should have been paid to you on the 21st may - Correct?

                          This:
"but in fact, each month you were paid for the 3 weeks you had already worked and paid in advance for the 4th week that you were due to work"

I'm owed for 1st to 16th May, minus 3.5 days holiday.

Yes, should have come in on the 21st.

Thought you said they owed you 3 weeks notice - That would be the 1st to the 22nd/23rd?
