    Hi all

I've just started a new job 4 weeks ago. I wasn't told in my interview that they was going onto shifts, 4 on 4 off. I don't mind the shifts, but is there a notice period they have to give you to do this and does your contract change?

Also I've heard that there going to give us set holiday dates, there planning on having 4 shut downs a year, April, August, October and Christmas, with no choice of when we can take our days holidays. Is this aloud?

    Thanks guys

They can certainly change your hours as you have no been working there very long. Also, if the job requires that you need to take your holidays at those time then it is allowed. There are no laws to prevent it.
Nothing I say should be taken as qualified expert advice. I am not an expert in anything.

If you decide to act on anything I have posted you agree not to hold me liable in any way.

If you are unsure then you need to take proper advice from someone who is an expert.

So it's legal for me not go have holidays any other time. What about time off for appointments?

I understand have compulsory holidays at certain times but surly there must be something that says that you have to have some days to take when you want.

If the case stands that I have to take all holidays when they say then I'll be looking else where for work
