  • Holiday Entitlement - 6 month deadline

    Hi there,

My employer today announced that in order to avoid the rush at the end of March for Employees using up their holiday entitlement, that they plan to add a 6 month deadline. The plan is that if an employee hasn't USED 10 days holiday after a 6 month period, then those days will be lost from the year's entitlement. Can this be done? It doesn't sound legal to me.

We asked if they just needed to be booked, but they actually want people to have taken then 10 days. As inconvenient as it may for them be come the end of march, surely they can't dictate when I take my holidays?

    Thanks very much

They CAN dictate when you take your holidays BUT they can't "lose" holiday yearly entitlement.
