Hello All
I have a query regarding my employment contract
i was dismissed from my 5 weeks old job on the grounds i didnt reached the standard required in my probationary period. (probation is for 6 months on contract)
I know that ET do not apply in my case for unfair dismissal but i just want to understand where i stand with teh whole situation legally
i was hired for a gaurantor loan product - which isnt launched yet, the launch was due on 26/03/14 got delayed due to technical issues.
they asked us to work in their call centre for different loan product similar to Wonga without formal training. I was handed a letter on monday that i have a performance review meeting and i have to attend with the right to representation. the letter further ssaid that this meeting could result in termination of my contract !! i was shocked and asked my team leader for the reason and i was told taht i havent met teh standards
now in the meeting i explained that the product i was hired for isnt launched and ready so how i have been graded on performance and i was told that i didnt took calls in the call centre quick enough for that 'other' product !!
just thinking can they actually do that - contract someone for a specific job product, and grade them on different product esp without training and then dismiss them ?? is it not breach of contract and infringing trust of the customers of the 'other product' who think that they are talking to someone who knows what they are doing
i m in deep mental stress as in 5 years of my career i havnet failed any probabtion, never had a disciplanary, not even a warning of any kind - i have also recd bonuses and incentives for going above and beyond my responsibilities
is their anything i can do including getting a lawyer on my own back and challenging this decision
thanks
