  • Remote Work - No contract or pay information?

A month ago I started a remote programming job. I have yet to receive a contract or any pay information. The hourly rate had only been discussed once after being hired, but it has not been spoken of again. They have not sent me any forms, asked for payroll information, nothing. I was told when I was hired that I would have a contact sent to me immediately, but a month later still nothing. I've contacted administration about my contract four times this month, and have received the same answer every time, "I will send it right over."

I'm getting incredibly impatient and annoyed. I'm afraid I won't be paid at all. What is going on here? What should my next action be?

I think you are being scammed sorry to say so but I think the best thing to do will be to send in an invoice for the work done and refuse to do any more until all paperwork in is place.

I don't think a scam is the case, I've worked for one of the founder of the site for a while a few years back. This site is a start-up, has been live for about 6 months. I understand that it is extremely hectic while trying to get everything in order especially finances, however if they weren't prepared they shouldn't have hired anyone at all. I've spoken to some others who are on the team as well and they have said they had no issues and received everything in a timely manner. It is a bit frustrating.

Thanks so much, I may just do that.
