  • Company trying to recoup training costs

    Hi there,

I'm currently leaving my current company due to ill health (stress and depression related).
However they invested in a training programme and I have to pay said costs back if I leave the company.

I do not feel liable to pay these as my ill health is due to working for the company.

Is there anything I can do to get them to waiver my fees?
I've looked for precedent and cannot seem to find them.

Furthermore others have left due to laziness. A lot of these people did not have to pay due to the lax controls in place at the company and it seems they have now become more vigilant in terms of recouping their costs.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Any more information then just asked
