  • Employment Law - Ineligible to apply for job?

    Dear All,

    I have a quick question.

Basically I worked in a place and I applied for job which was advertised there when I worked there.

When I left the company, however, the employer is saying that I became ineligible as the job was for internal applicants only. The process took a while, and it means that the interview happened over a month after the job closing.

Is it legally ok for them to not hire me on this basis. It's really annoying.

    Thanks, Brutus

If the job advert stated internal employees only then yes they are legally ok to do that.
I would add this, if you really wanted the job why did you leave?
