Re: Advice regarding notice.
They are. Not sure why really. She did at one stage have the temerity to point out that some of the other, longer-standing members of staff did sweet f.a. at work, one even used to have a snooze behind a sofa ( takes some doing in a room full of kids to be fair). Nothing ever came of this though. I think they're just aware that she was the best at her job there, and their inflexibility over changing her hours caused her to leave. The fact that at least ten kids have been withdrawn and either taken to her new place of work or elsewhere, which probably works out around £700 a day in lost income for them, can't have helped.
Anyhoo, after calls to both HMRC and the CAB, the P45 turned up today, postmarked with yesterday's date. I just fired off a quick email to the accountant thanking him for being so prompt and for lying to my face yesterday, and to my partner at least twice. We also have a list of directors to whom we'll be sending an email expressing our dissatisfaction at the way we were treated. There is still the issue of the 'threat' made by the ex-colleague. We'll be looking into that a bit more closely, but would rather the whole sorry episode was over and forgotten.
Thanks to all for their words of advice and support on here.
