Hello. I am employed full time and have just been invited to a consultation regarding my salary.
My job role was 're-banded' last year which meant that even though my job role hasn't changed, the salary range top and bottom have reduced.
This means I am now (through no fault of my own) paid over the top of the salary range for my role.
When the role was re-banded last year, the company did change my job title (very slightly) but my actual day to day work has always been exactly the same.
At the consultation I was advised that my salary will now be frozen for 2 years from any potential annual pay increases and then if the range hasn't improved in 2 years from now, my salary will be reduced to the top of the band.
Are my employers allowed to do this?
I have never put a foot wrong, always worked hard, always got good performance review ratings etc.
Thank you.
