  • Compensation claim?

    Hello there!
I worked at the Royal Mint Court PPI operation, run by Deloitte, on behalf of Lloyds TSB. I was a contractor. My contract was terminated as I sent an email to Lloyds advising that their PPI operation had fundamental flaws. This was all then brought out in the press.

They found this email too close to the bone, and sacked me although all I was trying to do is make clear the problems of the project in line with FCA guidelines. Can I bring any action against them? Or was I just unlucky as I was a contractor?

    Thanks,
    K.

    Hi Kosenurm.

This was the issue that was reported in the press in June right?

Were you contracted directly with Deloitte? Do you have the contract?

      Re: Compensation claim?

Yes this is the June reported issue.
I was contracted through a contracting agency, so not directly with Deloitte, no.
I do have the contract yes.

So your contract was with an agency. I suppose you've checked it for things like confidentiality and whistleblowing.

What was the reason you were given for your dismissal? Did they refer to any particular term in the contract that they felt you'd breeched? And if so did you get this in writing?

They simply advised that Lloyds wanted me off the contract as they didn't like the fact that I felt that the advise they had given us to handle the operation was unfair and non-TCF.

Didn't get it in writing, but can try to obtain this from the agency.

If the agency still supplies labour to Lloyds why would they help someone claim compo from them?

Obviously I wouldn't say what this was for, and the agency no longer has the Lloyds contract.

I think that's your first port of call. It would be much better to get something in writing because essentially that will be the basis of what you want to challenge. If they refuse you could send them a subject access request and you might want to do the same for Lloyds and Deloitte as communication about you between the 3 parties might be useful.

Thanks - is there an example SAR I can send to each?

                    Here http://www.ico.org.uk/for_the_public...al_information

You need to amend it to suit.

I submitted SAR finally to them today. Not sure what I'm hoping for, but we shall see! If they don't reply within 40 days from when they receive it (yes, sent it by Signed For post ) what could the ICO do?
