    My job is being advertised without telling me

    Hi I work for quite a big chain company and I recently found my current job advertised on direct gov website. There is only room for 1 person to do my job. Are they allowed to advertise my job when I'm still working there?

    While this does seem a bit unorthodox, unless it has a direct affect on your employment, nothing really untoward has occurred.
    Yet.

    It could just be a mistake; it could be that your employer is secretly planning to promote you in recognition of your exemplary track record, & is just 'covering bases'.

    Who knows?

    Well, actually, your employers might have an inkling; have you thought of just asking them?
