In the great scheme of things we can argue all day and night about the rights and wrongs of disclosing , asked for or not. The advice of the probation service is to disclose until the conviction is spent(even if not asked).

However until you have two years service you have no protection other than under protected characteristics.

The real problem here is that they've dropped the name "Criminal". Which is a pity because it's one less thing to attack them on in respect of enhanced disclosures, which is all the non-criminal stuff.
