I'm messaging on behalf of my friend
her boss is really horrible. The company give employers a bonus every week. 1£ per hour worked for the week which you lose if you call in sick or are late.
My friend has to get the train and usually works till 10pm at night and the last train is 7 mins past 10. A few nights the trains was cancelled so her boss tells her to swap shifts or to close early. And pays her her bonus. My friend has had several problems with her boss with the latest telling her she was worthless and telling team members that she took their bonus off them for swapping shifts when she wasn't even in to do so. So she has handed in her notice because she feels she can't work with her anymore. The night before she handed in her notice the train was cancelled again so she said she can't do closes for a while. Her boss said no problem just swap shifts. However the day she handed in her notice and swapped shift her boss took of her bonus so she lost a weeks worth of bonus.
When she confronted her boss her boss said she took her bonus because she took someone else's bonus for same thing (which she didn't) she asked why she didn't take bonus off for previous swapped shifts because that might of been fairer and the boss replied "she worked harder in previous week". My friend said she was going to speak to her bosses manager but her boss said it was her manager that told her to take it. So my friend said she would speak to her bosses bosses boss.
But my friend just rang her bosses boss who claimed he had no idea. My friend felt like she couldn't work with her boss anymore and walked out of her shift (which was just starting)
she spoke to her bosses boss the next day and have agreed that she will be paid holiday pay for week and moved to another shop for the final week of her notice. And get her bonus back. She explained to her bosses boss everything she has done including to other people. However she feels like no action or investigation will be done.
when my friend handed in her notice her boss went into the office and started laughing reading the letters with another team member.
is there any legal action she can take against her.
