Hi all,
Thanks in advance for any help.
I have been with my current company for five years. I recently applied for a technician's job and was given an internal interview.
The interview itself was very informal and over very quickly. I found out shortly afterwards that the position had been given to an external applicant three days prior to my interview. Although not 100% certain, I am fairly sure that the job had already gone before it was even advertised internally.
I am fully qualified to do the job, and have an excellent employment record. I would completely accept losing out to a better applicant, but would have preferred that I was told that I wouldn't be interviewed and that the position was already filled rather than the company to 'go through the motions' of an interview when there was clearly no possibility that I could get the job.
I am just curious as to whether what they did was legal under employment law?
thanks again for any advice.
