  • Holiday Pay

whilst i'm in the mood to get answers, can someone help me out on this one

I work a permanent night shift 12 hour shift, 4 nights a week, therefore 48 hours a week minus breaks = 46 hours a week

My pay packet everyweek confirms 40 hours pay, 6 hours overtime and shift allowance.

However when it comes to holiday they only pay us 40 hours.

I have asked previously if this is right and i was informed by HR that we the employees choose to work a 4 shift 12 hour pattern rather than a 5 shift 8 hour shift pattern, so they only need to pay us 40 hours holiday pay.

I was under the impression that holiday pay was calculated at an average of the previous 12 weeks worked, i dont know where i got that info from so maybe wrong.

Can anyone clarify what right or wrong here. thanks

It's my understanding that The holiday pay would be for 40 hours plus your shift allowance.
