Re: Training claw back
I thought I would update you all. I have today been to see an Employment Solicitor. They have advised that without a written contract it will be very difficult/near on impossible for them to claim the money from me. They are going to write to her advising her of this and we will see what happens.
We didn't even touch on the deformation of character!
He also mentioned that I would be able to put in a counter claim against her for not supplying me with an Employment Contract, the minimum I would be awarded would be 2 weeks wages and the maximum would be 6 weeks wages. Although this can not be a claim in itself, it could be if it was a counter claim.
So all in all, he was helpful and hopefully, once she receives letter, which is likely to end up on her "too hard pile", it may hopefully just disappear!
I have taken the Solicitors approach as it all was starting to feel like a couple of girls in a school yard squabling, "you said this, and you said that", and want to be the bigger person and get this sorted out like grown adults. Instead of letting her throw acusations around without being able to back it up.
I do feel a little peeved I have had to fork out for this, as I can't really afford it, but I truely do not believe it will go away without some serious form of action.
I hope I have done the right thing now, but hey hoo, no going back !! It's done!
