  • Is email confimation sufficient?

    Hi,

I left my company back at the end of Jan. I emailed them a copy of my notice period but they are claiming they never got it. They asked me to repay one weeks notice period and 1.5 days of over used holiday.

I am happy to pay back the 1.5 days holiday as I genuinely owe this to them, I have said I will repay this.

My employer has replied and said the will wave the one weeks notice period if I repay my holiday. What I want to know is, if I repay my holiday can they then chase me for the one weeks notice period and be entitled to it, regardless of the email saying I don't have to pay it?

I worked there for 3.5 months and signed a contract of employment.

    thanks,

If the reply is in writing then print out and keep that with a copy of the payment back that you are given. If they have not given you a pounds and pence that you need to reply then get that in writing and you are absolutely fine since effectively they have enacted a contract with you as such
