First post so be gentle!
I find myself in a situation at work where I believe there has been a breach of my employment contract.
My contract and job role was changed without my agreement and I'm not sure what to do.
Not only was my contract altered but I also had a significant cut to my salary.
Having done some research I think the following is true of my situation: -
1. My contract does not include a variation term so cannot be changed without my agreement. Do I have to agree in writing?
2. Unauthorised deduction from wages due to the breach of contract.
3. Breach of contract, contract was altered without my consent.
4. Job I have been forced to take is unsuitable as it is not of the same status and pays considerably less.
Any info on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.
Also, can I refuse to do the duties associated with the new job while I am disputing this?
