Hello
My son was employed as an apprentice approximately 6 weeks ago. During this time he attended work and college for the first 4 weeks. During the last 2 weeks he and others were told not to attend due to ‘power issues’ in the factory and to stay at home ‘listening to podcasts’ about the company.
Then out of the blue last week he and others were told that their apprenticeship was terminated by telephone due to the ‘company’s financial position’ with one weeks notice.
He’s devastated and I’m angry. However, this doesn’t feel right at all. There is no other offer of support and seemingly no recourse.
Grateful for any advice as to whether we can can challenge, get more support etc.
He’s over 18.
Thank You
