I am looking for some employment law advice.
I have permanent employment with my employer (UK).
I have recently been successful in applying for a promotion, which is a 12 month secondment. During the interview process I found I out I am pregnant, however it was too early to tell my employer. I have now signed the secondment contract and now need to tell my employer I am pregnant (due to needing time off for appointments etc).
Are there any watch outs I need to be aware of when telling my employer about the pregnancy?
Will my employer be able to legally cancel my promotion as I can’t fulfill the full 12 months?
