  • Suspended from work after a adhd meltdown

Hi, I've been recently diagnosed with adhd. I'm sat here typing this currently having a meltdown hoping someone can help me!!
so basically i had a meltdown in work due to some really important news that was horrendously communicated to me. This has resulted in me being suspended from work because my managers put a complaint in about the incident, the incident consisted of me using foul and abusive language in the home of a lady we look after and swearing at colleagues. This is now going to be taken to a disaplinary hearing.

My question is do i have any legal grouds to take these people to court??

All of these managers knew i had adhd btw and i work for a company that provides care to adults with learning disabilities..!!

As it stands at the moment all that has happened is that you have been suspended pending what should be an investigation into the incident. As part of this process the investigating person should invite you to a meeting to go through what happened. I would suggest, given that you have been diagnosed with ADHD, then if you feel that there is a need for reasonable adjustments to be made for this meeting, then when you are given the details for attending, you should send these in writing in advance of that meeting.

It will only be once the investigation has taken place that there will be a decision on whether or not disciplinary action will be taken.

Since your diagnosis and you making managers, aware has there been any discussion with your or a suggested assessment with an Occupational Health (OH) specialist to see how your employer can support you?
If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com

I do not provide advice by PM although I may on occasion ask you to send me documents this way but any related advice will be provided back on your thread.

I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.
If you have any doubts then do please seek professional legal advice.
